WELCOME TO OUR WEB PAGE! Sitting in my office, I can look out my window and watch two Red Foxes playing in the field across the road. Last night we had deer grazing in this very same field---YEP! You guessed it. We are in the country, far away from the ‘maddening’ crowds! It truly is the best of both worlds, however, for we have all the modern conveniences of the urban nursing facilities including access to a full range of therapists (speech, physical, and occupational), X-ray and lab that will come into our facility, pharmacy services delivered at our door everyday. Our wonderful food is planned with a chef (YES! A REAL CERTIFIED CHEF) in the kitchen and the Manager of Dietary Services who also works closely with our Consultant Dietitian overseeing all the special dietary needs. Our dietary team and our nursing team work closely together to monitor any potential food/drug interactions and keep a close eye on those lab values. All very important in our goal to keep our residents functioning at their highest potential. Dr. Paul Plessman is our medical director and is in the facility every Thursday. However, we also provide FREE transportation and accompaniment (in our beautiful new van) or by car to your personal physician in the Lincoln or Seward area if that is your preference. Each Wednesday our beautician comes into the fully equipped beauty shop at our facility and a barber is here every sixth week. We even have a podiatrist that comes into our facility on a routine schedule. Sunrise has 78 beds that are Medicare/Medicaid certified and 2 private rooms. We also accept all kinds of Long Term Care insurance. Our activity department plans lots of fun activities throughout the year—both large and small group activities AND special one on one times. They go to great lengths to find the things of special interest to each resident and to help them stay involved. In fact, we have one of our ladies that belongs to and is very active in one of the Lincoln chapter of Toastmasters. Sunrise also cares very much about your spiritual well-being as well as your physical and we invite several different denominations to come and share our beautiful chapel facilities. We also realize that moving to a nursing facility is not always the correct option for everyone, although we occasionally find ourselves in need of a “helping hand”. They are provided on a menu type of price list so you can pick and chose what works the best for you!
