RESPITE DAILY CARE: This can be during the day OR night and would be approximately 6-8 hours at Sunrise (not counting travel time.) Less than 6 hours and after 8 hours would be charged at an hourly rate. If you choose respite day care, lunch (any special diet observed with all meals) is included in the daily care rate, as is one bath per 5-day week if desired. After lunch, there will be a designated place for rest (either in an empty bed or in a recliner) for an hour or two. Folks are invited to participate in any and all of the activities that go on while they are here, including morning and afternoon coffee.

OVERNIGHT CARE: This is like day care only in reverse. If the client desires a bath, it can be arranged. Breakfast can be provided in the morning before leaving as our breakfast starts at 6:30 AM. The same rules apply for meds, bath and activities as daily care.

Any medications that the client would need during the day should come from home in a medication bottle that has been properly labeled by the pharmacy. Any care needs or assistance to toilet, cutting up food, assisting with bib, monitoring med intake and weekly vital signs are all considered part of the daily plan and are included in the price. Doctor visits, special incontinent needs, any special dressings, therapies, diabetic monitoring or wandering management could be billed at a pre-agreed upon amount in addition to the daily rate.

Respite care is usually less than two weeks and can be 24-hour care if needed or preferred. (In special cases, the two weeks time frame is negotiable.)

BATH AND BRUNCH: Bathing will consist of an attendant providing the desired amount of assistance required by the client. The whirlpool bathtub will be used and any special shampoos, soaps or lotions will need to be provided by the client. Otherwise, Sunrise will use the products we currently use with our regular residents. If whirlpool jets are used during bathing, a physician’s clearance is required in writing and kept in our records. Brunch will be provided and have an open invitation to any activities that are going on in the facility.


TRANSPORTATION: Sunrise will be glad to provide transportation to and from our facility and in most cases we only need a 24-hour notice to get you on our schedule. Our driver will accompany the client to and from their front door in our company car or our wheelchair accessible van.
